We are hosting a storytelling hour where we’re asking you to come with a story ready to share on the theme of: “A time when you overcame fear.” Register below to tell a story!
Registration is only for those who are courageous enough to be willing to share a 5-minute story. If you’re willing to overcome the fear of public speaking, share your story, and we’ll hook you up with a free drink and pastry.
Story Guidelines to make your story the best it can be:
What we DON’T want: Stand-up routines, Stereotypes. Rants. Political Monologues. Essays. Lectures. Fictions. Don’t read your story either. Don’t make fun of others or use another’s identity as a prop. Don’t celebrate unwanted sexual advances. And of course never use racial slurs or hate speech.
What we DO want: Stories should be limited to 5 minutes, should be truthful, on theme, and should aim to draw in the crowd. Hook us from the beginning! Paint the scene, clearly state your fear, make us invested in the outcome, highlight the conflict, and make it your own. Conclude as a different person: Show us how you overcame your fear and how that changed you.
If you would like to share, please recognize we will have a screening process prior to you sharing.
